Artistic Mother Butterfly Reminder, Week 5, in Progress

After taking a much needed break to get some things in order and taking time to reflect on my goals, priorities and how I should be spending my time, I have started working on the Butterfly Reminder from Week 5 of The Artistic Mother. I will do a little each day until it is complete. There are a lot of little steps; so I don't want to put pressure on myself to do too much in one day. That is part of the message of this book, though, isn't it, to do a little art each day? So what are you working on right now? Are you finding time to do a little art each day, or are you in a period of extreme busyness or time of reflection? I would love to hear from you to know how you are doing, what's going on in your life, and if there is anything I can do for you, even if it is just to pray for you. I think of you all often and am so glad that you are a part of this group, The Artistic Mother's Art Group, and that we are doing this together. You are an encouragement to me and have made my life richer. If you are reading this and have not joined us, I welcome you to consider doing so.

  2. So glad to see you're back working on the AM projects. I'm about to start the same one and it's baby steps here too, but my head is so full of ideas I keep losing focus!

  3. Hi Trudy,
Thanks for the encouragement. I am preparing a blog post on my poetry tote progress...telling the story of the photograph I have selected. Today I cut my fabric and am printing the photo. I am so glad that I joined this group. It is so much fun to share and see the progress with others going through the book. Sharing with other creative moms is so encouraging.

I would love a prayer...for direction. I am looking forward to the vision board...needing to clarify my life goals. I haven't set goals for awhile. I have been an extremely goal oriented person, but found I made an idol of my goals. I often set myself up for failure by 1~not being true to myself in my goals and 2~expecting too much too soon. So...that's where I am in the Artistic Mother journey. Will be writing about it tomorrow on my blog.

    Thanks Trudy!

  4. I find myself moving in such a different rhythm during the Summer. I pulled my book out after a hiatus from the process... and I also find myself turning to week #5. I am not quite to the point of working on it - I have an art show opening and poetry performance this weekend and with that, a chap book series to finish putting together - but Trudy, I am so grateful to know you and the community are still here for me to return to. It would be so easy to give up and walk away... yet knowing you are here, I know I can complete these tasks ahead of me.

    THANK YOU and Shona, too.

  5. Hello my friend!
Congrats on your progress! I have been thinking about us (our group) a lot lately as I for one have slowed down a bit. Vacation and a sick baby (okay, 4 year old with strep) has given me the excuse to stop being as productive as I would like to be. I have determined to get out there again and start on my next project, the storybook. I will also post Kendra's name plate (did one about her cousin already) very soon, just to get the juices flowing. . .
