HOPE YOU HAD AN AWESOME EASTER!! HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF OUR DAY.
AND BELOW THE PHOTOS, IS AN ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE ARTISTIC MOTHER'S ART GROUP PARTICIPANTS.
We are now starting Week 3 of The Artistic Mother Workshop. We will be making a poetry tote. If you are just now getting started or if you are still working on your background papers or your poetry journal, please do not despair. We don't have to all be at the same place at the same time. Feel free to work at your own pace. The important thing is to not get discouraged and give up because then you will miss out on the benefit. Remind yourself why you have chosen to be a part of The Artistic Mother Art Group in the first place. It was to build the habit of fitting creativity into your daily life. So just try to do a little each day. I encourage you not to cram and do too much in one day because you run the risk of burning out. If life gets in the way on some days or weeks and you can't do it, just jump back in as soon as you can. Be patient with yourself. You can do this. Step by step, little by little.
I love seeing pictures of your lovely family.
ReplyDeleteThose are good words Trudy :) I am taking a break myself this week to do house related stuff and to process photos from a senior photoshoot I did last week. And I have a few art books I have been meaning to look at.... but that is inspiration research, so am I really taking a break? ... oh yes and then there is school for the kiddos... so much to do!!!
Thank you so much for your ongoing encouragement. I am working diligently on my poetry journal after being away for a week in Massachusetts visiting Smith College with my daughter and now, it feels just right to be working on the Poetry Journal as I write my daily poem during National Poetry Writing Month. There are moments when I slip into comparisons, but thanks to encouragement from you and the others, I take a deep breath and put one foot in front of the other. THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pep talk... I was worried about being behind. Like Julie said, one foot in front of the other:)
ReplyDeleteAlways...thank you for your words! Makes me feel good! I too love your family pictures, I miss my kiddos.
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed putting in my every day to make "something" lovely. It's something I have taken away from the book. So glad I did.
ok, I'm back... My boys and I just gessoed (sp?) our papers. Do we need to do both sides? Also does all the print from the junk mail have to be covered? I can still see some through the gesso. My apologies if these are answered elsewhere, I looked around in the book and here and didn't see.
ReplyDeleteThanks:) Heather
Heather, those are very good questions. You only need to gesso one side. And it's okay if the print from the junk mail shows through.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the gentle words and sharing your images, what a beautiful family you have. Love your little ones curls :)
ReplyDeleteTrudy, Great Family and Great Pictures. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteBTW, thank you for your sweet message. I will post some more baby rooms soon, xo
ReplyDeleteTrudy, thanks so much for your encouragement. You are so right, it is all about one step at a time, and little by little. We can accomplish anything by breaking it down into smaller, manageable chunks! I need that reminder myself, often ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, and what loverly pictures of you and your family over Easter! You will treasure these, no doubt.
Hi, Trudy! I'm finally getting back in the studio today after a hiatus! It's all tidied up and ready for some new projects, like the artistic mother project. Hooray! love, Beth
