I know that life gets busy and that it's all you can do sometimes just to do the daily grind: laundry, meals, errands, homework, baths, changing diapers, etc. But no matter how wild and crazy it gets, I want you to really try and take time out for you, even if it's only for 15 minutes, some "me time," "mother culture," and make something lovely and creative each day. It is so important that you do this. It will nurture your soul. I do not want you to run yourself into the ground and to only view yourself as a slave to others. When you take the time to take care of yourself, then you will have more to give to your loved ones; and you will prevent burnout at the same time. That is one of the beautiful things about being involved in The Artistic Mother's Art Group. This group helps us to learn how we can balance our life, motherhood and being artistic.
If you have not joined our group yet, we would love to have you. Go here to read all about it, and leave a comment there to join in the fun.
Thank you so much Trudy for the wise words. I had a lot of fun last night making my background papers. I almost crumpled up one because it wasn't exactly how I envisioned, but I quickly told my self to just enjoy the process. When I woke this morning an looked at the papers I love them. They definitely look better than the ugly color of cardstock they were before.
Have you got the list with all the blog links for the members of the arty mums group as the blogs I am checking out dont seem to be doing much from the book...
No matter how young or old you are when you are a mother you tend to put yourself last and I think you have the right balance - good on you. Sometimes I have to remind myself that my children are young adults and they should fend for themselves - but once a mother always a mother.
Hi Trudy! Thank you so much for your comments here and for your sweet comment about the gum girl! Yes, we are so in love with her and I try to remember how lucky we are at all times - even when some times are easier than others - LOL!! Thank you for your constant encouragement, Kristin xo
Most of the photographs on my blog have been wiped out. Somehow they were lost. It would be too time consuming to replace. I have placed a few pictures here just so that it will not be completely blacked out. I now blog over at Sewing With Trudy if you would like to visit and follow me there.
Welcome! As the daughter of a gifted sewist and crafter, I spent my childhood in a home brimming with paintbrushes and sewing notions. Thank you so much for making Sewing With Trudy a part of your day. Enjoy your visit.
Thank you so much for the reminder!

you are so right Trudy -- even if it's just 15 mins daily. We must feed our souls -- it benefits everyone in the family:)
