My kids have really been getting into poetry since I started The Artistic Mother Art Group. They loved my poetry journal from Week Two of The Artistic Mother Workshop and wanted to make one of their own. They used the 5 3/4 X 2 3/4- inch little memo spiral notebooks because they want to be able to stick them in their back pockets and have it with them no matter where they are when inspiration strikes. They decorated them with their background papers.
The first one is Emily's, Age 9.
And this is Martin's, Age 7.
See my sidebar for information on how to join The Artistic Mother's Art Group and/or order the book, The Artistic Mother.
And head on over to the author's blog, An Artful Life, to win art supplies to use for the projects in her book, The Artistic Mother, this Saturday and every Saturday in the month of April.
Your kids did a great job...I would buy it at a store!
ReplyDeleteTrudy...thanks for the comment on my tote. Coming from you speaks huge to me. My patience was greatly tested!
Fabulous!,
ReplyDeleteI bet they'll have some great words to treasure in those little books.
I can still remember a line from a story I wrote in second grade that was published in the school newspaper that my mother clipped and saved.

I am so impressed! Such beautiful journals with bold colors and design - please let them know how cool I think they are, Kristin xo
ReplyDeleteOh, and thank you for your sweet comments about the rooms - I would love to be in Texas too - it's one of my favorite places!
These are so sweet! I'm so happy when I hear that children are learning to write poetry! I started when I was eleven and had very little encouragement. You are so good to help them along by giving them a special place to write things down. I'd love to have these in my show and tell next week!
