Motherhood Article & Artistic Mother Art Group Mentioned at Shutter Sisters

Shona Cole has written a beautiful article about the art of motherhood and also talks about The Artistic Mother's Art Group over at Shutter Sisters. She also mentions that she would love to see pictures of your precious children and requests that you leave a link for her to go and take a look. You will love her article. It is very inspirational and will bless your day. I encourage you to go and read it.

I am hoping to paint my papers today! They are already gessoed. After seeing all of your beautiful papers, I'm getting excited that maybe I can do this. I sure hope mine look half as good as yours. Oh, and my children already did their papers. They beat me to it. I'll try to get a picture to show you soon. The creative bug has really bitten them since I started this group. Hope everyone is having fun. I know I am. You guys make it all worth it. I've been really enjoying reading your blogs and following your progress. I'm learning so much from you!

  4. I have gessoed pages--some will be ready tonight, some tomorrow. I am doing the project a little differently. Hope that counts.

My youngest two boys have been at the table creating with me too. I LOVE that time together.

Thank you for setting up this group. It's been such a good inspiration for me.

  5. Thanks, Everyone.

Amie, it all counts. So glad we all doing this together. Whatever you do will be great. The main thing is that we are building the habit of doing little bits of art each day and learning to lives our lives creatively with our families. The only rule is to have fun!

  7. Adorable photo! I've been discovering - as long as the projects are done with good energy (i.e. not an "I have to" mood), whatever turns out is beautiful. I'm sure you'll discover the same (as your children probably already did!)

Have fun with the next step!!

  12. I am having a hard time getting going because of time pressures! And that's good....doll orders, making a package for galleries for trying to get a portrait show, two weeks of having my boy home, and a desire to get going on a special new drawing. I wish I had discovered this project this winter when I was in the doldrums in my studio. I might have to drop out now. But I have the book and it is very inspiring. I'm looking forward to curling up with it. love, Beth
